An ordinary woman with an extraordinary story

Testimonials

You have so lovingly and caringly shared your heart and relationship with the Lord. What a testimony and example of being able to be real with our heavenly Father. I love how you continually offer us to trust him and seek him in every area of our lives.

I look forward to sharing your book with friends in my area.

And definitely look forward to sharing a cup of tea with you sometime, either here or in the presence of our King.

Lora Jones, a precious woman of God, who knows this passage from His Word is true:

“Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.  When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.  When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.  For I Am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.”  Isaiah 43:1-3

In the absence of a pastor, Lora has filled our pulpit numerous Sundays. She has shared her life story with us; therefore, our hearts have seen many glimpses of God’s amazing grace.  Her countenance is evidence of her walk with the Lord.  He is her best friend; He is her life.  We have been blessed.

It has been such a joy and inspiration in my life to follow Lora.   I remember when this little girl was the added bonus to her family of three wonderful brothers. Their mother and dad were always leaders in their church in Liberal, Kansas. I claim Lora, not only as a sister-in-Christ, a heartfelt friend, and inspirational speaker but also cousin. My joy overflows when I think of the blessing to our family Lora has been as she continues to uplift ladies, men, families, churches, women’s organizations and others by sharing her the testimony of her heart. Lora prefers smaller gatherings because her calling is to visit with hurting people, which she can do in the smaller venue. God has given her the gift of sensing in her heart when someone has a story to share and comes to her seeking prayers and guidance. She has counseled many with experiences that come close to shattering their faith, but Lora’s confident words can lead them to an even deeper faith in our God and Savior, Jesus Christ.

God has truly touched her heart, mind and soul with His words, with His instructions, His counsel, and has guided her step by step on her journey of life, not with her precious family, but with her Christian family and friends so dear they become one with her.

I’ve known Lora since college, and knew JL as well. Even then she was an example of what a Godly woman is to me. When I started planning the first women’s retreat for our church, I knew that I wanted Lora to be the speaker. As she shared parts of her story during the weekend, she encouraged us to find and hold on to our security in God. She also shared her story Sunday morning at church after the retreat. Everyone who heard her that weekend was changed and encouraged by her openness, her genuine nature, and humbleness in giving God the glory for how He has and is working in her life in all circumstances. This was especially meaningful since that Sunday was JL’s birthday. Personally, she has encouraged, blessed me, and prayed for me so many times over the years. I wholeheartedly recommend her as a speaker, encourager, and a woman of God.

Lora Jones is a wonderful communicator who has a passion for helping women grow in their relationship with Jesus. When she spoke at our women’s conference, she shared a powerful message of hope and forgiveness with such a gentle and loving spirit that our ladies immediately felt close to her. She shared her story with us and was more than willing to listen to the ladies as they shared their stories with her. As an event coordinator, I can say she was absolutely wonderful to work with, and I would highly recommend her to anyone who wants to bring a message of hope and healing to their ladies group.

I just wanted to write and tell you the impact you made on me, and I didn’t even get to listen to all three of your talks. What an example you are (which I know you would indeed, trade for your family being back) as there was such a peace over you…a peace that could only be Supernatural.

I’ve known Lora for 30 years.  Her testimony is real, heartfelt, and so deeply moving that people still ask about her 4 years after she spoke at our church. Lora has experienced the deepest pain imaginable, but is able to testify to God’s healing power and His presence through every step of her journey. I can’t recommend her highly enough!

What pours from a broken heart is not the same as what flows from a heart broken for God.  Lora’s heart streams with triumph where both sorrow and hope mingle.  Her testimony is beautiful in its strength and delicate in its severity.  Her story is moving and her word powerful though her voice is meek and her speech gentle. This  ministry, entrusted to Lora, is one of healing, forgiveness, mercy, and trust.  Her heart, triumph, testimony, and ministry are gifts from, as well as gifts to, the Living God, Who is still Mighty to save and Whose Glory remains untarnished.

As I read through these notes about the J. L. Jones family, and am reminded of just how special they were (and still are though most of them are in heaven). Their lives are still having such an impact on others, even after all these years. Thank the Lord that Lora shares her story, so still more people can be changed by Jesus through their lives. I can’t imagine how difficult that must be. What a blessing this family was, and continues to be.
