Snow

December 23, 2013

I watched the snow fall yesterday.  It was so beautiful.  In Southwest Kansas, we don’t often get a snow that comes straight down, and this one did, piling high on the patio table in the backyard.

Snow is special to me.  I have loved it since I was a child.  I loved living in Grand Island, Nebraska because we got lots more snow, and it stayed on the ground for a long time.  Around here, the snow will be gone in a couple of days.

But it was snowing the night of the accident.

And after that, the snow scared me.

It dawned on me when it snowed the first time this winter that I love the snow again.  It was like a light came on within me – a spark of hope.  It means that some deep healing has come into my soul.

Now don’t get me wrong, there’s so much more healing that is yet to come….some won’t come until heaven itself.

But snow tells me that God is at work in me…..and brings me hope.

I loved reading this! I’m so glad that you have received hope from such a beautiful gift from God such add snow fall. Love ya and take care this Christmas.

I love the hush that comes with snow–while the snow is falling, everything seems quieter–neighborhood sounds, traffic noise, everything seems to be muffled and stilled. Now I’ll always let God speak a word of peace to my heart while I’m watching the snow. I’m glad you’ve been able to recapture a small childhood joy!
